Your wedding celebrant in Rockingham and surrounding areas

A little bit about Dawn...
As a wedding celebrant in Rockingham and surrounding areas, I try to talk to my couples and take notes, whilst actively listening, to personally guide them and help them decide what is going to be the best choices to help them achieve an individualised and caring wedding.

Using this personal touch, between us we achieve that goal. Many couples have shown their appreciation of this by decorating my office and home with angels, toys, flowers, photographs and lots of thank you cards for the caring personable approach that I provide.

Wedding re-affirmation of vows

These ceremonies are beautiful. They are often done for the marking of an anniversary. I am being asked more frequently to conduct them when a couple have perhaps been through a life challenge, and that can include coming to the light at the end of a tunnel, so to speak, in the case of illness or just wanting to show their family and friends that they are proud of their love and what that love has achieved. No matter the reason, they never fail to touch the heart.

Commitment ceremonies

Every one that has been fortunate to have found a partner should be allowed to declare their love if they wish with a celebration and tasteful ceremonies; and sometimes heterosexual couples, choose this ceremony even though it is not a legal commitment.

Funeral Services

I conducted my father’s funeral service in 1988. It was my first one ever, prior to me being asked to think about becoming an authorised celebrant. Since then I have conducted many services, sometimes these have been under very difficult and heart wrenching circumstances, from babies and small children, unforeseen and accidental deaths, terminal diseases and those who have completed their life’s journey.

They are always a great honour, and yes I also conducted my mother’s celebration of life, when she passed in 2008 according to her wishes.

Each celebration of life has been an honour for me to officiate at; my role is to help bring the love of every person in a respectful and dignified send off, in a way that some have requested. My funerals reflect the personality of the celebrated individual’s life; this may include through tears; singing, laughing, dancing, and any other wishes or things unique to the deceased. With this in mind I have, when requested conducted ceremonies at people’s homes, or other special places.

If I am able to bring a mixture of tears and smiles then we have touched the hearts of the family and friends and hopefully brought a sense of peace and spirit is released bringing comfort to all those left behind on this earth plane. I have in later years been asked to conduct Pets Funerals and have been happy to be asked, as they too are as important to many families.

MEMORIAL SERVICES

These can be performed when a person has died either interstate, internationally or after a private funeral, when family and/or friends request to celebrate the life of the person. There are many other reasons why this service may be requested. I listen to the requests of family and/or friends to gather their thoughts and ideas, in order to accommodate their best wishes. These services, like funerals, can take place at home or other special locations if requested. Scattering or placement of your loved ones ashes is another service that I am only too happy to conduct.

Namegiving Ceremonies

These ceremonies have brought great joy to us all, this is the time to celebrate a new child coming into the world. It is always a lovely way to welcome and introduce a baby or an older child to family and friends.

I conduct non-religious ceremonies at homes and other venues, this can often bring comfort if couples want to give thanks for baby or have religious differences.
